This is an exciting opportunity to work within an outstanding Secondary School as a self-employed Maths Tutor.

This role will support the school in delivering a tutorial and intervention program, working closely with a member of SLT responsible for the tutoring program. The role requires working with a cross section of students from Year 7 to 11, and with students across diverse ability groups.

The tutor will provide a range of small group (maximum 6 students) and 1-1 sessions across Key Stage 3 and 4, mainly on site and in person. A limited number of these sessions will be remote via Microsoft Teams.

The tutor will be responsible for planning and delivering effective and bespoke intervention lessons informed by feedback from the maths teacher, and is responsible for regularly communicating with the department to ensure that tutoring sessions support the curriculum being taught in lessons.

This role will have a flexible timetable which may change at two key points in the year. The tutor is expected to work flexibly, accommodating infrequent late changes to tutoring sessions. January to May is a peak period where Year 11 students preparing for their Maths exam are prioritised. During the summer term, the number of in-person tutoring periods is likely to reduce as the number of students receiving tutoring will shrink. During this period, the tutor will work with more of our disadvantaged students, and pupils struggling to attend school.
