Year 6 to 7 Transition
The transition from primary school to secondary school is one of the biggest and most exciting milestones a child will experience in their life, and one they will always remember. For this reason, it is crucial that schools get this transition right.
We are welcoming students to Tomlinscote from over 30 different primary schools this year and continually endeavour to foster meaningful and mutually supportive relationships with these establishments. The mark of a successful transition is so dependent upon clear communication with these primary schools and the continued strong relationships we have built.
At Tomlinscote, we have a fixed Head of Year 7 (Mrs Teare) and a member of our Senior Leadership Team (Ms Livesey) who has strategic oversight of Year 7 and Key Stage Two transition. One of the key reasons for this fixed model is our transition work and the strength of the relationships that we have built with our local junior schools.
If you have any questions regarding the Year 6 transition to Tomlinscote for this coming year then please contact Ms Helene Livesey (Assistant Principal-Transition and Progression) at the school on 01276 709050 (ext. 3006)

Year 6 upcoming Tomlinscote students:
The secondary school places have been confirmed and we are incredibly excited to welcome those that will be continuing their educational journey with us at Tomlinscote. We look forward to meeting students this year in their junior schools when we come for our transition visits in the summer term. See the documents and links below for information about Tomlinscote and joining Year 7 this year. We will issue a student booklet which has lots of information about the school and how things work which is a good place for Year 6 students to start.
